Movie Theater Spend Acceleration
Using our own ‘Pulse’ consumer credit card transaction data product we visualized the effect that recent movie releases had on consumer spending. On Friday, May 27th Top Gun: Maverick premiered and on Friday, June 10th Jurassic World: Dominion premiered.
We looked at spend acceleration over time to see if the movie premiers produced any spike in growth. Our data shows that Top Gun: Maverick incited acceleration in Baby Boomers and Gen X. However, it did not perform well with Gen Z and Millennials. Jurassic World: Dominion was able to provoke acceleration in all generations.
